What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Dig it...I found this 1974 guide at the library. It has lots of groovy advice from fellow nomads....Truckin' baby!

Oh, deer

We were really excited to see all the captain chairs at the pik-a-part place...until we stumbled over this deer leg. Those vehicles did not get there in a good way...creepy...but at $22.00 used compared with $300.00 new I guess we can deal with a little creepy. If you see a three legged deer out there tell 'em his other leg is in a 1996 Midnight Blue Astro Van in aisle 10.

Red Red Red

look how cool the engine looks. Scott disassembled it, cleaned or replaced the part, painted them RED!( we love that) and put it back together. I want to sit in front of the van, at a car show, in a web lawn chair and drink a coke...in a glass bottle.

Rebuilding the Engine

Next weekend we pick up the van. Last October, we placed a ad on Craigslist : Wanted - mechanic who likes working on Chevy 350s. Scott, a race car mechanic, answered our ad and has been slowly replacing/rebuilding the engine, suspension, brakes and exhaust. As Scott put it, when asked if it was worth rebuilding, " It's a perfect body with 40 year old parts - definitely worth rebuilding."

Can't wait to get it back.
